School Hours

School Year 2022-2023

September 8, 2022

Dear Parent(s)/Guardians:

I thank you for your support and patience this weeks as we opened our doors for another amazing school year. As we kick off this year, just some reminders regarding arrival and dismissal.  Our doors open at 7:40 a.m. for breakfast and our school day begins at 8:10 a.m. Any student that arrives after 8:15 am is considered late.  Students who are having breakfast will be let in the front doors at 7:40 am, students will not be let in prior to 7:40 am, please do not leave your children unattended. During inclement weather, students will not line up outside, they will be brought in the building through the large playground (Entrance 2) and go to their designated areas for their grade.

Arrival for grades 1-5 will begin at 8:00 am in the large school yard.  To maintain the health and safety of all school community members, please line up along the fence until the gate is open.  Once the gate is open we will direct students to their line spots where they will wait for their teachers.  Students in grades 3K, Pre-K and Kindergarten will line up in the small playground on the side of the building.  Kindergarten arrival will start at 8:00 am.  Please make sure that your children are in their designated waiting areas in order to maintain the health and safety of everyone.  3K and PK arrival will begin at 8:20 am, you can start lining your children up by 8:15 am in their designated areas. Under no circumstances should students be left unattended.

Dismissal time is at 2:30 pm, for all students in grades K-5.  Students in grades 3-5 are dismissed from the large schoolyard, if you pick up your child in grades 3-5 they must be picked up by 2:30 pm if not they will wait for you inside the large schoolyard with a staff member.  Students in K-2 that are not picked up on time will be brought to the gymnasium and will have to be signed out.  Please be mindful that staff hours with students end at 2:30 pm, and although many wait with your children as a courtesy, this is not their obligation.  As per state law, students that are not picked up in a timely fashion can be brought to the nearest police precinct, if there is not a staff member here to stay with them.  If you are running late, please notify the teacher and or the school immediately.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to come in to speak with me.

Respectfully,

Tekesha Babb
